Anxiety Treatment
Is your life consumed with worries? Does your anxiety keep you from doing the things you want to do? Do you worry about what other people think about you? Do you have a hard time saying no and setting boundaries? Are you tired of caring so much about what other people think and running yourself ragged to please them? Has the anxiety taken a toll on you, leaving you preoccupied and stressed?
Suffering with uncontrollable worry and anxiety makes day-to-day life so much more challenging. It drains your energy, lowers your mood, and can result in a host of physical symptoms. For those with clinical anxiety, worry is all-consuming. This is often hard for others in your life to understand if they don’t also suffer from anxiety. As debilitating as it is, there is hope because we have some very effective strategies to help conquer worry and get your life back. One of the greatest joys in my life is helping patients with anxiety find peace through learning how to manage their symptoms in therapy. I have extensive experience treating all forms of anxiety disorders (e.g., Phobias, OCD, Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety) and would love the opportunity to work with you on your healing journey.
ADHD Diagnosis and Treatment
Are you constantly consumed with the pressure of your never-ending to-do list, but struggle to find the motivation to make progress, and instead end up procrastinating then feeling guilty? Do you have trouble disengaging from social media and find yourself scrolling endlessly on your phone? Do you struggle with impulse control through overspending, binge-eating, or consuming substances? Do you struggle with feeling overstimulated and overwhelmed by your environment? Do you battle time blindness, task paralysis, decision fatigue, forgetfulness, a racing mind, insomnia, irritability, and/or mood siwngs?
Due to increased awareness, we are now having an influx of women who relate to symptoms of ADHD. Many of these women struggled with symptoms during their childhood that were missed or misdiagnosed with anxiety, depression, OCD, Bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. I am very passionate about helping clients finally understand what has contributed to their mental health challenges. Accordingly, I conduct thorough psychological assessments utilizing validated measures and structured interviews to give patients much-desired answers and a path forward.
I also work with those who have already been diagnosed through individual therapy to target the unique challenges of late-diagnosed ADHD in women, including self-esteem challenges, perfectionism and people-pleasing, time-management skills, self-compassion, emotion regulation, relaxation strategies, relationship skills, procrastination, and life-simplification strategies.
Chronic Health Issues
Do you feel like no one believes you when you try to convey the seriousness of your symptoms? Are you tired of endless suggestions from other people, when you’ve already tried everything? And being made to feel like your symptoms are your fault or in your head? Are you tired of endless doctor visits, with no progress in your health? Do you feel like a prisoner in your own body?
Chronic health problems are difficult within themselves, but when you add being a woman with comorbid mental health challenges to the picture, it is especially difficult to find the help you need. One of my specialties centers around supporting those with chronic health problems (e.g., Long Covid, POTS, Lyme, Autoimmune disorders).
I do so by helping patients advocate for themselves, incorporating relaxation and pain management techniques into therapy, and utilizing evidence-based treatment to target co-occurring mental health challenges. Support and hope are often hard to come by for those trying to navigate a world in which physical and emotional health are strained. We will work together to improve these aspects of your life and build a life worth living.
Psychodiagnostic Assessment Services
I also offer psychodiagnostic assessment to provide clarity for clients or other treatment providers. Through this assessment, we will identify and assess for all relevant potential diagnoses (e.g., PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, Anxiety, Major Depression, Personality Disorders). The evaluation involves an extensive interview(s), completing multiple testing sessions, and receiving feedback/recommendations.
